SWINE FLU IN MIZORAM

Swine influenza is the deadly disease that is spreading throughout the world in recent days .So people should be aware of that disease and its symptoms. Here we are going to deal with its causes and effects in Mizoram.
Swine flu is caused by one of the several swine influenza viruses. Swine influenza is common in the pig population throughout worldwide. It does not leads to human influenza always. But when it does it is called as zoonotic virus. It also entered our country and now causing deadly situation in few parts of the country. Now we are going to see the epidemic situation in northeast state Mizoram.
Swine flu creating the panic among the people the authorities in Mizoram has taken up a major awareness campaign throughout the state to dispel the fear. So far nearly 10 people are tested positive in the northeast state. In that 2 are from Mizoram. All the infected patients are kept isolated and full treatment is being given to them continuously. The awareness among the public is to be increased so as to dispel the fear. This awareness program is initially started from schools in the state. The children create the awareness very fastly. Hence awareness program has been started from schools. Actually the situation creating more panic than the actual ground reality in the state .After announcing the two tested victims in the state the panic situation has come down reported by an official.
The medical situations in the state , Major hospitals are providing the treatment in free of cost throughout the state. As a precautionary step the masks are provided in free of cost in government hospitals. The H1N1 positive patients are provided with isolated wards to avoid spreading of disease they are even isolated from their relatives till they getting cured fully. At Falkwan hospital a ten bedded ward has been arranged about 20 kms from state capital Aizwal, which would be equipped with intensive care unit .
Mizoram chief secretary said that, ”A lot of panic has been created in the last several days after two people tested for positive in Mizoram. There is no cause for people to go into panic mode”. According to the chief secretary the relatives to the two victims have already faced social stigma while patients at the Falkawn referral hospital and the locals objected to the two swine flu infected people being treated at the hospital.
The people in the remote districts are also be sensitized about the disease. Several teams of experts from central health ministry are now visiting the northeastern states to train doctors and to supervise the medical facilities available in the state.
In Mizoram there is a high awareness among the people pointed out by a doctor he also added that wearing masks in the street is not necessary it is meant only for the medical officials treating swine flu patients and the patients themselves.
As many as 501 pigs have fallen prey to the swine fever across the state of Mizoram. The veterinary officials reported that there is no reason for panic because of this swine fever. This fever does not spread to human beings as swine flu does. And also a chalked out control action also been taken to control this swine fever too.
